Kevin Wright has assumed the newly created position of director of sales operations at Russet Potato Exchange (RPE), where he will oversee day-to-day operations including transportation, logistics, customer service and vendor managed inventory programmes and sourcing.
Mr Wright has previously spent over 20 years with retail group Supervalu in a range of both regional and national positions.
'As our organisation grows, it is imperative that we seek out diverse talent from around the produce industry,' said Russell Wysocki, CEO and president of RPE. 'Kevin's corporate sourcing experience with Supervalu brings us a high level of focus on system metrics and ROI that can help us refine the management of our day-to-day operations.'
When asked about his new position at RPE, Mr Wright said: 'It's refreshing to find suppliers like RPE that are progressive and use new ideas and technology to expand their business. After spending my entire career on the retail side of the desk, I viewed the opportunity with RPE as a chance to take on a new challenge and translate my retail sourcing skills on the supply side of the business.'
