In recognition of the strength of trade between the UK and Kenya, the World Fruit & Vegetable Expo (WFVExpo) has announced that Kenya will be the Country of Honour at this year's exhibition, which takes place in London on 16-17 November 2011.
The move recognises the fact that Kenya is a major supplier of horticultural products to the UK, with some 120,000 tonnes exported in 2010, and also highlights the support that the Kenya High Commission has given the event.
This year will mark the third time that the Kenya High Commission has participated at the event with a pavilion, and this year the larger pavilion will feature 10 exhibitors.
'Like any other marketing event the expo has been a rich outlet for our exports, with both immediate and long-term returns,' said Michael Mandu, commercial counsellor at the High Commission. 'We use the expo as an avenue for introducing new producers onto the world stage.'
For the fifth time, the WFVExpo will be held at ExCel London, drawing exhibitors from across the world.
