Wal-Mart de Mexico has revealed this week that June same-store sales climbed by 4.7 per cent compared with the same month in 2009, with World Cup-related promotions boosting customer traffic through stores and spending.
Average consumer spend grew by 2 per cent year-on-year, the group said, while 2.6 per cent more people visited Walmex stores, Reuters reported.
Reuters analysts had predicted that sales at stores open for at least 12 months would rise by 5.4 per cent in June.
