The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has revealed that air cargo traffic results for July improved on a year-on-year basis, hitting their highest levels since 2011.
Global freight tonne kilometres grew 1.2 per cent in July, boosted by a strong performance in Europe and the Middle East.
IATA said that volumes were at their highest levels since mid-2011, with capacity up 3.4 per cent on the same month of 2012.
Weaknesses in the Asia-Pacific region gave continued reason for caution, IATA said, with North American airlines also experiencing weak demand for airfreight.
