John Williams Norbert Dentressangle

In the UK, logistics and transport group Norbert Dentressangle has announced the appointment of John Williams as director of its shared-user business unit.

Williams will now take responsibility for a portfolio of 10 shared-user warehouses, totalling 2.5m ft2, strategically located throughout the UK. The network includes the Perishables Handling Centre at Heathrow Airport – Europe’s largest chilled airfreight handling centre and a 120 acre site at West Hallam near Ilkeston, comprising 106 individual warehouse units from 3,000-147,000ft2.

According to the group, Williams has become a member of the executive committee for Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK Ltd, reporting to managing director Malcolm Wilson.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company who will support and empower me to make decisions and changes to deliver continuous improvement and growth, working alongside people who are themselves motivated and empowered to go the extra mile to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations," said Williams.

"This is borne out in my experience working on the House of Fraser implementation; quite simply the best team effort I have ever seen in my 25 years in the industry.

"On the strength of these attributes, Norbert Dentressangle is held in increasingly high regard and is rapidly becoming the provider of choice for companies – both large and small – with a requirement for best-in-class logistics services."
