Fyffes Plc has announced that it has made a new appointment to its board, with Jim O'Hara joining as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
O'Hara, 61, is a former vice-president of Intel Corporation and general manager of Intel Ireland, while he is a board member of Allied Banks, EBS and Enterprise Ireland.
'We are very pleased that Jim has agreed to join the Fyffes board,' said David McCann, chairman of Fyffes. 'He has broad commercial experience both as an executive and more recently as a non-executive director in a number of different businesses and is highly regarded by the business community in Ireland.
'We look forward to his contribution to the future development of the group,' he added.
