J&K Fresh East

US customs brokerage firm J&K Fresh has announced the establishment of an East Coast division at the Port of Philadelphia.

J&K Fresh East is a partnership between the Los Angeles-based firm and 721 Logistics, a customs broker and freight forwarder in Philadelphia.

“We are very excited about this opportunity and what it means to our customers,” said Lynnette Keffer, J&K’s president and chief executive officer, in a press release.

“The Port of Philadelphia is a major player in perishable imports and many of our West Coast clients clear product there – from a business standpoint, establishing J&K Fresh East was easily justifiable.”

The new outfit entered into operation in January but Keffer said she wanted to ensure that the East Coast staff was properly trained under J&K’s procedures before officially announcing the expansion.

According to John Ercolani, J&K Fresh East’s vice-president of operations, the Philadelphia opening will help to ensure customers receive strong customer service.
