California-based fresh produce customs brokerage group J&K Fresh has continued its ongoing quest to help in the fight against breast cancer.
The group had sponsored the Beautiful Day Foundation for many years, a foundation started by the daughter of a former J&K Fresh employee during her battle with breast cancer, a battle she sadly lost.
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond their control, the Beautiful Day Foundation had to close its doors, the group said.
However, In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, J&K Fresh ordered breast cancer awareness shirts from Sleep Is 4 Suckers, while CEO David Shands had the J&K Fresh brand added to the sleeve of the shirt.
Ten per cent of the profits of all the breast cancer awareness shirts sold by Sleep Is 4 Suckers were donated to the American Cancer Society.
Meanwhile, the Keffer Foundation, on behalf of J&K Fresh, made a charitable donation to Life Worth Saving, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that brings support to urban women and their families who struggle with cancer and other diseases – this donation specifically going towards Life Worth Savings’ Cancer Awareness Mobile Bus.
'The only way to live is by paying it forward,' said J&K Fresh's Raymond Keffer on the donation.
