California-based grower-shipper-packer Ippolito Fruit & Produce has been working with RedLine Solutions to streamline its cooler and inventory operations.

Since Ippolito installed the RedLine Cooler traceability solution in 2011, the company claims to have seen dramatic improvements in its shipping and warehouse operations.

“We have achieved nearly 100 per cent shipping accuracy, are better managing our product and packaging inventories, and have realized time savings in the order fulfillment and inventory counting process,” said Ilidio Domingues, Ippolito’s distribution manager.

RedLine said its traceability solution allows customers to manage their inventory and order fulfillment processes since coldstorage workers scan product barcodes for every pick, move, or ship transaction.

“RedLine Cooler guides them through the process and notifies them of errors so they can immediately correct them,” the group said in a press release.

“This streamlines product flow and eliminates bottlenecks at shipping. The system manages product locations, pallet configurations, and accurate order fulfillment, while recording who performed each activity and when.”

Ippolito grows and ships spinach and a variety of other fresh vegetables in over 200 packaging configurations under the Queen Victoria brand.

The company handles millions of produce packages across North America each year.
