IPP Logipal has announced that it is boosting its reputation within the fresh produce sector by securing a new contract to supply Chingford Fruit, the UK importer-distributor and part of the AG Thames Group.
The leading one-way trip pallet specialist has previously worked with AG Thames' subsidiaries Grapes Direct and British and Brazilian, with this experience key in convincing Chingford to make the switch.
As part of the deal, IPP makes regular deliveries to Chingford's depot from its strategically located regional distribution centre in Crayford, Kent, in southern England.
Deliveries are made utilising IPP Logipal's Trade Direct solution, specially devised for the fresh produce and chilled sector, where IPP's pallets are delivered directly from retail outlets – thus ensuring low costs for AG Thames and reducing the environmental impact of the service.
'We have been impressed by IPP Logipal's service and high reputation in the fresh produce sector as two of our produce companies already used their service,' said an AG Thames spokesperson. 'IPP Logipal's specialist team provided us with a competitive and flexible solution to work with and a service that more than exceeds our expectations.
'We've found the whole process much more simple and cost effective than our previous arrangement with less pallet management and administration involved, freeing up time and resources for us to concentrate on our core business,' the spokesperson added.
