The Israel Ports Development and Assets Co (IPC) is seeking government approval to form a consortium with an Indian firm to build a modern container terminal in the Indian state of Gujarat, according to Port2Port.

Gujarat is one of India's wealthiest and most industrialised states, contributing 16 per cent of the country’s total investment, 10 per cent of its expenditure, 16 per cent of exports and 30 per cent of stock market capitalisation.

IPC is responsible for the development of Israel’s three commercial seaports, Haifa, Ashdod and Eilat, and provides the necessary infrastructure to enable the ports to efficiently handle the country's international maritime trade.
