Intermarché

French retailer Intermarché has revealed plans to further develop its convenience store portfolio in the country by increasing the number of Express stores that it operates.

According to ITM Alimentaire president Philippe Manzoni, the group is aiming to operate 50 Express outlets in Paris and other urban centres by the end of 2012, up from the current total of 22, Planet Retail reported.

In central Paris, the stores could range between 400-600m2 in size, with a total of 10 to be operating by the end of next year.

Eight Intermarché Express stores will open within the next four months, Manzoni said.
