French retailer Intermarché has launched a new range of discounted fruit and vegetables under the marque Top Budget.
The range, which will be changed each week, consists of nine of the most popular fruits and vegetables, such as apples, oranges, kiwifruit, potatoes, courgettes, carrots, avocados, onions and tomatoes, all offered at knock-down prices.
“By focusing on fruit and vegetables, Intermarché and Ecomarché are responding to the concerns of French consumers with regard to buying power and health. Although consumers are aware of the need to eat fruit and vegetables every day, a quarter consider them costly.”
Intermarché has launched a two-week TV spot advertising the initiative, in addition to a website allowing visitors to view a list of the discounted range available at their closest store.
