Some 195 companies have so far confirmed their participation at the next Expoalimentaria Peru trade show, according to a press release from the Peruvian Exporters Association (Adex).
The event, which will be held in the Peruvian capital Lima on 19-21 September, is being organised by Adex in collaboration with PromPerú, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Exterior Relations.
The 195 companies will showcase their wares across 227 stands, which represents 53 per cent of the total estimated exhibition floor space, Adex explained in the release.
From Peru, so far there are 173 companies who will represent businesses from La Libertad, Lambayeque, Piura, Tacna and Arequipa.
Some 82 of the firms are from the agroindustrial sector, including: Aromas del Perú, Grupo Gloria, Cocomar, Port Logistics and Danper Trujillo, among others.
To date, 47 companies from the machinery, equipment and packaging sector have signed up for the event, including: Multivac Chile Sucursal Perú, TFM Industrial, Diveimport, Sistema de Codificación and Friopacking.
Some 22 companies from overseas are also attending, including firms from Brazil, Chile, the US, Spain, Mexico, Argentina and France.
The show will also feature eight country pavilions for Brazil (measuring 116m2), Ecuador (116m2), Mexico (80m2), the Netherlands (60m2), Colombia (48m2), Bolivia (48m2), Italy (18m2) and Canada (9m2).
Adex said that France and Switzerland are also in the process of confirming country pavilions.
The 2011 edition of Expoalimentaria Peru achieved US$472m-worth of business deals and welcomed 28,000 overseas visitors from 58 countries.
