Inline Plastics Corporation in the US has launched a new range of Safe-T-Fresh packaging to enable products to hang on racks and displays at a variety of retailers.
The so-called Hangables clamshell containers, suitable for wet and dry salads, fresh-cut fruit, sweets and nuts, comprise a molded-in hang-tab to enable merchandising on racks and pegboard displays.
As part of the Safe-T-Fresh range, the containers also incorporate a tamper-resistant locking mechanism and a unique patented tear-strip hinge which is removed by the consumer to gain access to the contents of the container.
According to the manufacturer, this unique design eliminates the need for shrink-bands or wrap-around labels to prevent product tampering, as well as better protecting the product as opposed to many types of flexible packaging.
“Initially available in 8oz, 12oz, and 1 oz. rectangular sizes, Hangables are manufactured in 100 per cent recyclable PET, benefiting retailers and processors by providing containers to their customers who desire environmentally responsible packaging,” a company spokesperson revealed.
