IMG Citrus, a family-owned, vertically-integrated citrus grower, packer, and shipper in Vero Beach, FL, is celebrating its 40 years of business.
The company was created in 1979 when president Michel Sallin and his wife Veronique visited Florida seeking investment opportunities in agriculture and acquired 72 acres of the orange groves in Manatee County.
Since then it has become a fully integrated citrus company growing, packing, and marketing fresh Florida citrus around the world.
“IMG Citrus is totally integrated,” said Sallin. “We are the marketing, the grove production, and the packing house...We started as a marketer, and then we went toward production.”
The company recently announced the acquisition of one of the largest grapefruit groves in Florida. The 4,000-acre grove increases its control of citrus land management in the state by over 75 per cent.
