French-Moroccan group Idyl may be better known for its tomatoes, melons, citrus and stonefruit, but the company has now revealed its ambition to commence raspberry production in Morocco, with the aim of turning it into a flagship product for the company.
Idyl announced the development of new production sites in Morocco, the objective being to ensure a continuous supply of raspberries, both for the local market and for exports.
In 2015, Moroccan raspberry exports totalled 7,500 tonnes, generating around US$52.8m (€49.7m) in value terms.
