Hortilux

On 1 January 2016, Hortilux Schréder, the Netherlands-based provider of grow light systems for greenhouse horticulture, completed a merger with B&W Installaties, a Dutch company specialised in the engineering and fitting of such systems. The deal creates a new company, which will go by the name Hortilux Schréder.

The new company’s strategy is to focus on improving its customers’ yields. In this way, it intends to strengthen its position in Europe and expand into new global markets.

General manager Ronald Monster highlighted the synergies that would be achieved by the merger. “We have noticed that the majority of our clients are in need of a specialist that covers all aspects of grow light,” he said. “An expert that offers a complete solution, in which advice, design, installation, fitting and service seamlessly work together. The new Hortilux offers this complete grow light solution.”

Arno Wartewig, director of business development, added: “This integration will boost Hortilux Schréder's knowledge and increases its innovative strength. Approaching grow light as a complete system enables the company to, faster and more efficiently, develop new insights and technologies that will increase its client’s yield, providing our client with added value.”

Hortilux is presently developing LED fixtures that it intends to introduce in January and February at upcoming events in Germany, IPM and Fruit Logistica, and at Tuinbouw Relatie Dagen in the Netherlands.
