Spanish fresh produce exporter Group Hortiberia has announced that its head of fresh products, Salvador Ferrer Soria, has passed away.
Mr Ferrer, who was aged 50, died on Saturday 17 July in his native city of Picassent in Spain’s Valencia region.
In a statement, the Murcia-based group said that Mr Ferrer was a person “well liked and appreciated” by all who knew him in the horticultural sector.
Mr Ferrer, Hortiberia said, had remained linked to the fresh produce industry for his entire professional life, more specifically to the production and marketing of citrus.
His funeral took place yesterday (19 July) in the church of Picassent.
