Mike Knowles head shot

In August, Eurofruit and its sister publications Americafruit, Fresh Convenience and Fresh Produce Journal will be packing up their notepads, cameras, computers and seasonal calendars before departing our existing home beside London’s New Covent Garden Market and relocating to a new office just up the Wandsworth Road.

This magazine has been put together here at Market Towers since its inception at the start of 1973, when it took residence in what was a brand-new high-rise built to house administrative teams belonging to the market’s fresh produce traders. Our publishing company Market Intelligence is vacating what has become, sad to say, a tired old office block that is destined for the scrap heap – plans were approved late last year for two bigger skyscrapers to be built on the existing site – but we are swapping it for a converted three-storey cinema building that promises to give us a larger, more comfortable and more inspiring space in which to work.

In the meantime, we’re also working hard to give our website a major facelift and, all things being well, we should be able to show off our new virtual home later in the year. Our news website Fruitnet.com will become a central hub for all the magazines we produce, enabling you to access more of our features content as well as the regular flow of news stories our journalists supply on a day-to-day basis. As we head into the second half of 2012, we’re confident these home improvements will benefit our readers too.
