Dutch fresh produce importer Hillfresh has welcomed the first grapes of the Namibian season, and has said that it is hopeful of a 'wonderful' season ahead for the fruit.
The group, which has enjoyed a partnership with the Grape Alliance Marketing for some years, has this season welcomed a new link-up with the Navico group of companies – Nagrapex Holdings, Nivex Holdings, Exotic International and International Grape Company.
According to Hillfresh, the harvest is promising for this season and of high quality, with early varieties including Early Sweet and Flame Seedless kicking off the campaign.
'We are very pleased with the grapes,' said Michiel van Dijk, grape buyer at Hillfresh. 'Not only do they taste wonderful, but we also have common understandings with the suppliers when it comes to social responsibility. This is always an important aspect for us.'
