Hild Samen, a subsidiary of vegetable seeds specialist Nunhems based in Marbach am Neckar, Germany, has reportedly taken over the chives business of Rijk Zwaan.
According to Nunhems, the deal includes the breeding programme, the stock of commercial varieties and any outstanding production.
“The programme of Rijk Zwaan is a valuable addition to our existing chives assortment,” said Paul Rubitschek, managing director of Hild. “We are pleased to now extend the offering to our customers with five additional varieties, among them the two hybrids Polyquick and Marlau.”
