Hamburg Süd has announced that, with immediate effect, it will now call at the TCEEGE deep-water Terminal in Aliaga, Turkey, instead of Izmir (Alsancak) on the northern route of its Europe-Mediterranean Service (EMS).
The first port call in Aliaga, which lies 55km north of Izmir, in Nemrut Bay, will be on 26 March 2010 by the Nicoline Maersk vessel.
With the port call in Aliaga on the northern route of the EMS, and that in Izmir (Alsancak) on the southern route, Hamburg Süd will now offer two port calls a week in the Izmir region.
The new port rotation for the northern route of the EMS will be Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Aarhus, Antwerp, Gioia Tauro, Piraeus, Kumport, Gebze-Evyap, Aliaga, Gioia Tauro, Valencia, Felixstowe.
Meanwhile, the EMS southern route will see visits at Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Valencia, Alexandria, Beirut, Lattakia, Mersin, Izmir, Salerno, Felixstowe.
