The tenth and final vessel in Hamburg Süd's 'Monte' series has been christened in Hong Kong before being phased into the group's Asia-South Africa/South America East Coast Service (New Good Hope Express).
The ceremony took place on Friday 29 May, with the 'Monte Aconcagua' the last of the German company's 5,552 TEU range to be named.
Luise Klus, the daughter of Gundlach Group's chairwoman of the advisory board Dr Ingeborg von Schubert, sponsored the container ship.
Hamburg Süd has also revealed that it will be adding a further three 'Rio' class ships to its fleet by the end of 2009, each with a capacity of 5,900 TEU, with all set to be introduced into the group's Europe-South America East Coast Service.
