The Port of Hamburg in Germany has reported on a strong showing at Intermodal South America, the trade fair for the Brazilian and international transport sector, which took place on 6-8 April this year in São Paulo, Brazil.
As one of some 490 exhibitors at the event, Port of Hamburg Marketing hosted a 40m2 joint booth, made up of member companies including BUSS Group, Polzug Intermodal, Saco Shipping, TCI International Logistics, TCO Transcargo and TFG Transfracht International.
Participation at the event was designed to highlight the importance of import and export traffic concluded between the Port of Hamburg and Brazil, with the South American country ranking number three on the list of the port's top trading partners with around 5.6m tonnes.
Of this figure, general cargo handling accounts for around 2.1m tonnes, with 2009 seeing the handling of approximately 167,000 TEU of container transport between Hamburg and Brazil.
