Port of Hamburg Marketing (HHM) has revealed that it will be showcasing the port's potential to around 45,000 trade visitors from industry, commerce and the logistics sector in South America next month, by participating in Intermodal South America in Sao Paulo.
At the trade fair, which is being held on 10-12 April, HHM will be represented on the German ports joint stand with Brunsbüttel Ports, Buss Port Logistics, Polzug Intermodal, Swan Container Line and TCI International Logistics.
Participation is crucial given the fact that Brazil emerged as the Port of Hamburg's fourth most important trading partner in 2011, with a total of 302,000 TEUs transported with the country.
Among the many goods exchanged as imports and exports between Hamburg and Brazil are fresh fruits and vegetables.
