The Port of Hamburg has revealed that seaborne cargo throughout grew 6 per cent to 103.9m tonnes during the first nine months of the year, with year-on-year improvements in every quarter so far.
After growth of 0.6 per cent in the first quarter and 6.3 per cent in the second, Hamburg enjoyed a throughput rise of 11.1 per cent in Q3 to 35.8m tonnes.
Container throughout for the nine-month period came to 7m TEUs, up 3.6 per cent, while for the third quarter alone containers came to 2m TEUs, growth of 6.3 per cent.
