Dutch import company Hagé International, part of The Greenery, has kicked off its Italian grape import campaign sourcing a full range of varieties from Puglia-based exporter Agricoper.
The importer took delivery of the first consignment of Black Magic seeded grapes at the end of week 27 and is set to receive initial volumes of white seeded variety Victoria this week, followed by a number of other varieties.
These are expected to include Italia (white seeded), Red Globe (red seedless), Sugraone (white seedless), Crimson (red seedless) and Palieri (black seeded), as well as mixed packs.
Hagé has been working with Agricoper, one of Italy's leading table grape exporters, for a number of years.
'Agricoper places continued focus on the development of new varieties, according to market demand,' commented Wilfred Heijstek, Hagé's product manager for grapes.
'The most important areas in this regard are taste, quality and shelf-life.'
