Alan Christie has been named as the new general director for Europe at fresh salad and vegetable supplier-marketer G's Marketing.
Effective 1 April, he replaces Luis Ronda Zuloaga, who according to the company recently completed a major reorganisation of the company.
He will be responsible for the group's Spanish distribution and marketing operations, as well as leading business development in central Europe.
Mr Christie was previously director of UK-based producer Guy Shropshire's, part of G's Marketing and one of Europe's largest vegetable producers.
Across the UK, Czech Republic and Spain combined, the company has more than 12,000ha of production.
In the Spanish region of Murcia, meanwhile, the group hass a total of 4,000ha of salad and vegetable production area.
Around 75 per cent of the company's Spanish production is exported to other European markets.
