SweetPoint has said it is adding Rijk Zwaan’s Tatayoyo pepper to its assortment
Grower association SweetPoint has announced that it is to start cultivating Tatayoyo, Rijk Zwaan’s pepper variety.
SweetPoint, which is part of Growers United, said the slightly larger snack peppers were being grown at its location in Honselersdijk, the Netherlands.
Tatayoyo stood out for its bold flavour, intense sweetness, and rich aroma, it noted.
”This snack pepper offers a completely new taste experience and is a very welcome addition to the pepper category,” SweetPoint stated.
Michel Zuijderwijk, a grower at SweetPoint, shared his excitement at the news.
“This snack pepper is really something special,” he said. ”It’s very sweet and has a firm bite. We’re curious about consumer reactions and hope to scale up further next year.”
The harvest was already in full swing, the association noted, with the snack peppers making their way to consumers in ”attractive packaging”.
