Purfresh, an industry leader in active atmosphere and supply chain management technologies for fresh produce transportation, has announced the launch of its new grower partnership programme.

The programme is designed to create working relationships with growers by analysing the post-harvest supply chain of their commodities to offer the best solution for optimising the quality of the delivered product to the consumer. In addition, the programme ensures that Purfresh technology is available to preferred customers during the peak shipping season, the group noted.

'Purfresh's active atmosphere solution provides shippers with a cost-effective solution to reduce decay, control ripening and enhance food safety of fresh produce shipped throughout the world via ocean transit,' said Dr Brian Westcott, president and CEO of Purfresh. 'Protecting the quality of fresh produce as it travels around the globe is critical, and as a result, demand for our Purfresh technology continues to grow.

'To assure we can meet the demand of our preferred customers and provide the maximum benefit of our technology, we created an allotment system that will reserve units for programme participants in advance of anticipated usage,' he added.

the grower partnership programme is available to a select group of preferred customers, and requires growers to complete a post-harvest survey, as well as submitting a seasonal forecast.
