Nicolas De Clercq succeeds Geert Peeters, who will leave the company at the end of September
Greenyard has announced that Nicolas De Clercq will join Greenyard as chief financial officer (CFO) and member of the executive management of the group.
De Clercq will succeed current CFO Geert Peeters, who will leave the company at the end of September to pursue new endeavours.
“Nicolas brings over 25 years of experience, of which over a decade as successful CFO, including at a stock-listed company,” said Hein Deprez, founder and co-CEO of Greenyard.
”He has all qualifications as a top executive and has built a proven track record over the years displaying continuous growth and leadership,” Deprez noted. “We are sure that Nicolas will be fully operational in no-time and directly contribute to our accelerating global journey towards pure-plant foods and healthy diets for all.”
De Clercq said he was very happy to join an ambitious company like Greenyard.
”There was an immediate chemistry with the company, and with the management team.” he confirmed. ”Looking at my professional journey over the last ten years at a listed company with a strong family as shareholder, the clear ambitions of Greenyard and my personal background as the son of a grower, all the pieces of the puzzle have come together for me.
”Greenyard is a company with a clear purpose, right at the heart of the global food transition and set for a healthy future,” he noted. ”I am looking forward to contributing to that path.”
Peeters will transition from his role as CFO and leave the company on 30 September 2023.
“Together with Geert, we have worked hard in recent years to further prepare our company for the future,” co-CEO said Marc Zwaaneveld.
”Based on Greenyard’s strong foundations, we have become a stronger and more agile global leader over the past years. We are a stable and reliable partner in the food value chain, and Geert has directly contributed to this.
”In the year in which he turns fifty, Geert feels that it is a good time to look at other challenges and take on new ventures,” Zwaaneveld outlined. ”We would like to thank him for his firm commitment and important contribution to our results in recent years.
“With Nicolas on board, we will be able to continue our work based on those foundations, and even further accelerate.”
