The Israeli government has apparently agreed to pay NIS33m (€6.6m) to employees of Agrexco to compensate the workforce following the liquidation of the company in September 2011.
The decision follows a deal between Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini and Accountant General Michal Abadi-Boiangiu, according to a report by national publication Globes.
The government is also reportedly to transfer an additional NIS6m (€1.2m) if the National Insurance Institute does not recognise its commitment to transfer compensation to the employees in accordance with the liquidation arrangements.
