Gourmet Trading Company

US-based fresh produce importer-distributor Gourmet Trading Company has announced the appointment of Patricio Rebolledo Refusta, former agricultural manager at Driscoll’s in Chile, as its blueberry representative in Chile.

Mr Rebolledo has over 20 years experience working in the blueberry industry throughout Chile, according to the company, and possesses a strong knowledge of all aspects of the supply chain for blueberries in South America.

In his new role with Gourmet Trading Company, Mr Rebolledo will help continue to increase Gourmet’s volume of blueberries supplied to the North American market in an efficient manner, as well as ensure the seamless transition in supply between Gourmet’s Argentinean and Chilean programs.

“We are experiencing exponential growth in our blueberry program and are delighted to have Patricio joining our team,” said Chris Martin, president and CEO of Gourmet Trading Company. “He brings a wealth of experience and will be taking the lead in our continued expansion in Chile.”

The addition of Mr Rebolledo to the Gourmet team is an important step forward in expanding the company’s South American berry operations, added Scott Hulsey, berry procurement manager at Gourmet. “His years of experience with berries in this area will allow us to grow our production and allow for better control of the supply chain,” My Hulsey explained.

“This new hire in Chile is important in reinforcing our strong position in the year-round blueberry category,” further commented Julia Inestroza, Gourmet’s marketing and merchandising manager. “Patricio’s presence in Chile will ensure that we not only have the volume of fruit needed for successful promotions with our customers but also the highest quality fruit that the end consumer now demands.”
