The Giumarra Group of companies has announced that it will market mangoes from Mexico for the 2012 season on behalf of RCF Produce, after agreeing an exclusive deal.

Arizona-based RCF Produce markets fresh fruit and vegetables grown in Sinaloa, Mexico, with president Malu Crespo overseeing all US operations.

'We are very excited to be the exclusive distributor for the RCF Produce mango programme,' said Craig Uchizono, vice-president Southern Hemisphere for Giumarra.'Our volume will grow significantly, which will enable us to offer our customers solid, secure programmes throughout the season.'

The mangoes will begin shipping at the end of February and will continue through the end of September, with both conventional and USDA-certified organic fruit. Available varieties include Kent, Haden, Keittand Tommy Atkins, while specialty varieties, such as Ataulfo and Baby Ataulfo, will also be offered.

'Because we are working directly with the grower, we can custom pack the fruit as needed for our customers,' Uchizono added. 'Mangoes are incredibly popular worldwide and we are enthusiastic about the continued growth potential for this item.'

The mangoes will be sold through Giumarra’s Nogales, Vernon, and Southeast offices.

'We are glad to be working with Giumarra, a fellow family-owned company,' said Jorge Crespo of RCF Produce. 'We look forward to starting a new stage where we can grow together, further develop our mango market, and begin exporting some of our other products in the near future.'
