South African fresh produce giant Capespan has announced that Gerald Müller has resigned from his role as managing director of Capespan Continent, a position he has held since 2000.
According to Capespan, Müller - who has been with the company since September 1989 - is stepping down in order to pursue personal interests.
Capespan Fruit chief executive Leon van Biljon thanked Müller for his dedication and contribution to Capespan and wished him well with his future endeavours, while confirming that he would continue his involvement with the company in an advisory and consultancy capacity.
In terms of a replacement, van Biljon noted that handover arrangements would be dealt with shortly from 'within the wider skills base of the group in order to have a seamless and uninterrupted continuation of the business'.
