Capespan has announced the appointment of Gerald Gant as its new commodity executive for citrus, a position he will take up from mid-April 2019.
Gant has had a long career in the fruit industry, with his most recent positions being production director and previously as managing director at Dole SA.
“We are pleased that Capespan has been able to attract someone of his calibre and experience at a time when we are gearing Capespan for the next level of growth and development” said Tonie Fuchs, managing director of Capespan.
Capespan said that with Gerald’s management, grower and market customer experience, he will develop and grow a global commodity focused citrus business unit, contributing to the company's drive to fulfil its promise to our customers: 'We deliver'.
Together with André de Klerk (commodity executive for pomefruit) and Geoff Green (commodity executive for grapes), Gant will form part of a team driving an integrated global commodity strategy with greater focus and impact.
Gerald will be based at the Capespan office at Old Oak Office Park, Bellville.
