Cees den Hollander has been named by Dutch export association Frugi Venta as its sole candidate for the role of chairman, following the recent departure of former incumbent Wim Tacken.
According to Frugi Venta director Willem Baljeu, Mr Hollander's proposed appointment would be aimed at strengthening links between producers and traders working in the Dutch fresh produce business.
Mr Den Hollander is a former director of Dutch fresh produce cooperative The Greenery and currently a member of the management board of fruit and vegetable marketer Terra Natura International.
He also played an instrumental part in the development of trade centre Fresh World Barendrecht, near the Port of Rotterdam.
