The Greek trade fair is back in Thessaloniki this week with 275 exhibitors from 22 countries, in addition to a hosted buyer’s programme and a schedule of talks, workshops and seminars on pears, figs, kiwifruit, peaches and apples
As Freskon international trade fair gets set to open its doors at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center on 10-12 April, organisers TIF-Helexpo stressed the “increasingly international character” of the event.
During a press conference for the show, TIF-Helexpo CEO Dr Kyriakos Pozrikidis highlighted the role Freskon plays in offering fruit and vegetable businesses access to new markets, customer retention, internationalisation and networking opportunities.
He emphasised the growing international reach of the event, noting that Freskon Greece recently participated in last month’s Fruit Attraction São Paulo exhibition in Brazil.
This year’s Freskon welcomes 275 exhibitors from 22 countries, with more than 2,000 B2B meetings organised with approximately 136 hosted buyers from 38 countries, in addition to two organised buyer missions from North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
In collaboration with Froutonea magazine, TIF-Helexpo said, FreshCon Market 2025 will bring together professionals from the fresh fruit and vegetable sector with buyers from 17 supermarket chains from Greece, the Balkans and south-east Europe.
In addition to the International Congress on pears, focused on production and commercial development, side events will include a workshop on figs, a forum on persimmons, a specialised workshop on yellow kiwifruit and seminars on the prospects for peaches and apples, water conservation and soil improvement, and food waste prevention.
The Logistics & Transport Thessaloniki Expo, organised by O.Mind Creatives, will take place alongside Freskon, attracting businesses from the transport, export and logistics sectors from Greece, the Balkans and international markets.
Theodoros Dimitriadis, president and CEO of O.Mind Creatives, said the expo addressed a real market need for a permanent transport and logistics exhibition in northern Greece.
He pointed out the concentration of export businesses in the region, along with the growing Port of Thessaloniki, four regional ports, and railway links to the Balkans, which he said could transform the region into a strategic logistics and trade hub.
