Sanjeev Asthana from Reliance at the 2007 event

Fresh Produce India, the country's only international fresh produce conference, returns to the country in 2009 taking place at the Hyatt Regency Mumbai on 2-3 April.

Organised by Asiafruit Magazine and in association with the SCS Group, the event aims to provide delegates with unrivalled insights into how to take advantage of the huge opportunities the country's fresh produce market offers.

India's high level of consumer market growth, it's large horticulture capacity and the rise of modern food retailing across the subcontinent make this a market that serious players in the fresh produce business cannot afford to ignore.

Although significant challenges remain, early entry partners look sure to be the long-term beneficiaries of India's rapid emergence.

A number of key issues will be discussed at the event, such as how suppliers can respond to an increase in disposable income of consumers and a demand for higher quality, and how major retailers are working to address the issue establishing modern supply chains to support their massive store opening plans.

Through two days of workshop sessions, an impressive array of expert speakers will provide delegates with invaluable information and analysis on the Indian market.

Online registrations are now open at www.freshproduceindia.com. Register online by 18 February 2008 to save 20 per cent on delegate fees.
