Retailer Delhaize has announced that it has turned to Stéfan Descheemaeker, 48, as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Craig Owens who left the group on 30 September 2008.
Mr Descheemaeker joins the company on 5 January 2009 after serving as non-executive director at Belgian Brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev.
He has held roles as executive vice-president external growth and in operational management at the company, and has also worked for Cobepa and Defi.
