Fresh Direct Produce – one of western Canada’s leading fruit and vegetable importer-wholesalers– has been named one of Canada’s 50 best managed companies for 2011, a programme sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, and Queen’s School of Business.
The company, which operates distribution centres in Vancouver and Calgary, was selected by a national judging panel of business experts from Deloitte and CIBC that identifies excellence in Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over C$10m.
“We are very thankful to our customers, suppliers, and team members for helping us achieve this national honor,” said Fresh Direct president and co-founder Davis Yung, in a press release.
“It is exciting for us to be recognized alongside all of the successful Canadian companies represented within the Best Managed Program.”
Fresh Direct Produce sources more than 550 different fruit and vegetable items from 28 countries for distribution to grocery retailers and foodservice distributors across Canada.
