US produce industry members in the Philadelphia area are being encouraged to connect with regional buyers and suppliers at the end of November, during the Produce Marketing Association's (PMA) Fresh Connections: Philadelphia event.

The event, which takes place on 30 November at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott, will focus on food safety risks, traceability initiatives and how local sourcing may be affected by proposed legislation.

Attendees will enjoy an interactive one-day programme featuring experts such as the PMA's Dr Bob Whitaker, Johnna Hepner and Ed Treacy, reaching out to members with business-building news and information.

'The beauty of PMA Fresh Connections events is in its regional focus and intimacy,' said Ross Bonn, sales manager for Bunzl. 'Not only will attendees be able to hear directly from local supply chain members on their food safety and traceability concerns, but they will also be able to directly ask questions of and get feedback from PMA staff experts who bring real-world understanding to these complex issues we're all grappling with. It's an incredibly effective forum and the results are immediately applicable to business.'
