Fresh & Easy Neighbourhood Market has continued its expansion in the country by launching its first two stores in the Sacramento region, with CEO Tim Mason joined by Sacramento City Councilwoman Bonnie Pannell and City Manager John Shirey at the opening.
'We are excited to officially open our doors in communities here in Sacramento and meet our new neighbours,' said Mason. 'We look forward to Fresh & Easy becoming a solution for Sacramentans looking for easy meal ideas and a more affordable place to shop.'
The group, the US operation of UK-based retail giant Tesco, is also planning to launch a further three stores in the region this month, located at Lincoln, Elk Grove and Folsom, creating a total 150 jobs in the process.
'Fresh & Easy's investment in our community is a significant milestone for District 8,' noted Pannell.'Fresh & Easy is a smaller neighbourhood-serving grocery store that residents have been anxiously waiting for. I am excited about this store and the second store to be built at the corner of Freeport and Meadowview. This is positive growth for our community.'
