Mack, Andrew Sharp

UK fresh produce group Fresca is to set-up a brand-new topfruit division under the umbrella of its Mack Multiples subsidiary.

The company has secured a southern hemisphere topfruit programme with a major, as yet unnamed British retailer and is expected to begin operating around May this year.

Andrew Sharp (pictured), Mack Multiples’ former business development director, will be heading up the new division.

Although the company declined to comment on the exact details of the subsidiary, Fresca has already began recruiting for positions, which will be based at Liverpool Produce Terminal.

In a statement, Mr Sharp said: “It’s a really exciting opportunity for Mack and it’s a very fast-moving time for us.

“I’m really enjoying the challenge of setting up a whole new department and recruiting new members to the team. We intend to make a big impact in the market.”
