French consumers are eating more fruit and drinking less alcohol than they did ten years ago, according to a study just published by the French food safety agency (Afssa), but there remains “room for improvement”.
Although the agency revealed that adults and adolescents were consuming more fruit, it also highlighted insufficient consumption of fruit and vegetables amongst young adults as a continuing problem.
The study was conducted between 2005 and 2007, analysing the eating habits of 2,624 adults and 1,455 children over a period of one week.
