According to the results of the monthly Drive Insights study into the development of click-and-collect in France, retailers have opened 205 such outlets during the first six months of the year.
Although Intermarché and Carrefour have been the most active during the period, with the addition of 82 and 63 outlets respectively, market leader Leclerc continues to grow, with the addition of 23 drive-throughs.
Leclerc claims a 45 per cent share of the market, which is expected to grow rapidly from €4.3bn in 2014 to over €5bn this year.
During the same period, Casino Drive recorded 20 openings, while Auchan’s Chronodrive closed 14 sites.
