Farmers from the southern French departments of Gard and Pyrénées-Orientales have continued their protests against cheap imports of Spanish produce by preventing truckloads from heading north.
This week, at Gallargues-le-Montueux, five lorries loaded with Spanish fruits and vegetables were opened and their contents emptied onto the street, causing a traffic jam several kilometres long, according to L'Indépendant.
The 150 farmers then reportedly headed to the regional platform of retailer Aldi, in Boisseron, where tonnes of Spanish fruit and vegetables were overturned in a refrigerated warehouse.
