Metro AG has announced that Otto Beisheim managing director Dr Fredy Raas is to join its supervisory board, replacing the recently deceased professor Erich Greipl.
'Dr Fredy Raas is a recognised retail and financial expert and commands intensive knowledge about Metro from his many years of service as chief financial officer of Metro Cash & Carry Germany and other entities', said Franz Markus Haniel, chairman of the supervisory board of Metro.
Raas is a member of the management boards of the Otto Beisheim Group and of the boards of the two Prof. Otto Beisheim foundations in Baar/Switzerland and Munich.
Prior to this, he worked in various corporate functions at Metro, and then at Otto Beisheim Group from 1991 onwards.
