France yesterday (15 April) created a new agri-food association dedicated to boosting French fresh produce exports to China.
Conseil Agroalimentaire France-Chine (CAFC) is a made up of representatives from France’s dairy, beef, pork and fresh fruit and vegetable professional trade associations.
French fruit exporter Blue Whale’s commercial director Marc Peyres is the new association’s general secretary.
The French government set up CAFC to advance Franco-Chinese relations in all matters relating to fresh produce exports, including quarantine and phyto-sanitary issues.
CAFC will have a representative on the ground in China, in Beijing.
France set up a similar association to facilitate Franco-Russian trade.
